There is no more dilemma. Spanish basketball coach Ibon Navarro is the new head of the coaching staff of Crvena zvezda.
The Spanish expert and Zvezda have agreed on all the details regarding the upcoming cooperation, and all that is left is for the entire deal to be made official, writes “Meridian sport”.
During the previous four years, Navarro led the Unicaja team with great success, having won as many as seven trophies. With the team from Malaga, he lifted two trophies each in the FIBA Champions League, the FIBA Intercontinental Cup, and the Copa del Rey, while also winning one Spanish Super Cup.
The Crvena zvezda basketball club has a turbulent season behind it, which began with the dismissal of Ioannis Sfairopoulos, continued with the arrival of Saša Obradović, a series of victories and winning the “Radivoj Korać” Cup, and then a complete collapse occurred in the finals – elimination in the EuroLeague play-in, as well as in the semifinals of the ABA League and the Serbian SuperLeague. Because of all this, Obradović was dismissed, and the Spanish expert is now arriving in his place.
