Two young men were killed in a serious traffic accident that occurred early this morning at the entrance to Kotor Varoš, near Banja Luka, close to a gas station. The victims were identified as S.B. (21) and M.A. (21), while a third young man, A.Č., was injured.
According to the information currently available, no other vehicle was involved in the crash. The circumstances under which the vehicle left the roadway and crashed will be determined through the police investigation.
The tragedy occurred at around 5:00 a.m. on the Banja Luka–Teslić main road. Police officers remain at the scene conducting an investigation, and traffic on this section of the road has been suspended.
More information about the cause of the serious traffic accident is expected once the investigation has been completed.
Prosecutor’s Office Confirms Two Fatalities
The District Public Prosecutor’s Office in Banja Luka confirmed that two people were killed in the traffic accident, which occurred at around 4:30 a.m. at the entrance to Kotor Varoš.
“The traffic accident involved a passenger vehicle, an Audi, driven by Č.A., born in 2006, from Kotor Varoš. The passengers in the vehicle, B.S., born in 2005, and A.M., born in 2004, both from Kotor Varoš, were killed in the accident.
“The driver of the Audi, Č.A., sustained bodily injuries. He received medical treatment and was admitted to the University Clinical Center of the Republic of Srpska in Banja Luka. The on-site investigation was conducted by the duty prosecutor of the District Public Prosecutor’s Office in Banja Luka, together with officers from the Kotor Varoš Police Station. The prosecutor ordered that all necessary investigative actions and measures be undertaken to determine all the circumstances surrounding the traffic accident,” the District Public Prosecutor’s Office in Banja Luka stated.
