The President of the Republic of Srpska, Milorad Dodik, stated that the verdict against the leader of the right-wing French party “National Rally” Marine Le Pen, as in his case, was brought about because of politics, not based on law.
“Marine Le Pen was convicted because she is a threat to a system that does not know how to lose. As in my case, the verdict was not brought about because of the law, but because of politics. She, like me, is paying the price because she has the support of the people, which they cannot defeat in elections,” Dodik wrote on the social network X.
According to him, the courts, in his case as well as in Le Pen’s case, have become “a tool of those who fear democracy, because they know that they cannot succeed against it in fair elections.”

Just like in my case, the verdict was not about the law—it was about politics.
She, like me, is paying the price for having the kind of popular support they…
“That is why they are trying to erase us with verdicts, not defeat us with arguments. When will you stop? Until you convict the last democratic leader? Je suis Marine,” Dodik wrote.
The court in Paris found Le Pen guilty of abusing European Parliament funds and banned her from running for public office for five years.
The Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina issued a first-instance verdict against Dodik at the end of February, sentencing him to one year in prison and a six-year ban from holding public office for failing to implement the decisions of the High International Representative in BiH.

Since March 27, when he left Israel, where he attended the Conference on Anti-Semitism, it is not known where Dodik is, and since then he has been posting on X.
The BiH Court has asked Interpol to issue a red notice for him, because, as stated, he is unavailable to the judicial authorities of BiH, who charge him with “an attack on the constitutional order.”

Reactions in Europe
The Prime Minister of Hungary, Viktor Orban, posted “Je suis Marine!” on the social network X, i.e., “I am/support Marine.”
Viktor Orban reacted to the verdict against Marine Le Pen.
The Italian far-right Minister of Transport and Deputy Prime Minister, Mateo Salvini, called the verdict against Le Pen a “bad movie” and a “declaration of war by Brussels.”
Salvini, like Orban, is an ally of Le Pen and a critic of the European Union.

À Paris, ils ont condamné Marine Le Pen et aimeraient l’écarter de la vie politique. Un mauvais film que l’on observe également dans d’autres pays comme la Roumanie.
Ce qui se…
“Those who fear the voters’ verdict often find security in court verdicts. In Paris, they convicted Marine Le Pen and would like to exclude her from political life. A bad movie that we are watching in other countries like Romania. This one against Marine Le Pen is a declaration of war by Brussels, at a time when the warlike impulses of Von der Leyen and Macron are frightening. We will not be intimidated, we will not stop: full speed ahead, friend!” he wrote on X.
“This is the execution of French democracy,” said National Rally leader Jordan Bardella.
Bardella reacted in a post on social networks.
“Today, it is not only Marine Le Pen who has been unjustly convicted: it is French democracy that has been executed,” he wrote.
Aujourd’hui, ce n’est pas seulement Marine Le Pen qui est injustement condamnée : c’est la démocratie française qui est exécutée.#JeSoutiensMarine

Dutch far-right leader Gert Wilders wrote that he was “shocked by the incredibly harsh verdict.”
“I support her and believe in her 100 percent, I believe she will win the appeal and become President of France,” he wrote.
Far-right politician Marion Marechal, a member of the European Parliament and niece of Marine Le Pen, accused the judges of “thinking they are above the people,” claiming that Le Pen was found guilty only because she was on the way to leading the nationalists to victory, the Guardian reports.
“For decades, the National Rally and our family have suffered every blow, every attack, every injustice. The judges, thinking they are above the sovereign people, decided to execute in court a woman they could never stop from returning to the ballot box. Marine Le Pen led our party on the path to victory. That is her only guilt and that is why she was convicted. No one on the right should pretend to be satisfied with this verdict. It was Francois Fillon before, today it is Marine Le Pen. Who will be next?” she asked.
I am shocked by the incredible tough verdict against @MLP_officiel. I support and believe in her for the full 100% and I trust she will win the appeal and become President of France.

Let us remind you that Marine Le Pen was found guilty today by a court in France, stating that she is banned from running for public office and that the ban takes effect immediately.
The ban was set for five years, as requested by the prosecutor, which significantly hinders, if not completely stifles, Marine Le Pen’s plans to run in the 2027 presidential election, in which she had a great chance of winning according to early polls.
She will have the right to appeal the verdict, however, it was decided that the candidacy ban will take effect immediately.
