“When I first visited Boriša after the injury in the Dragiša Mišović hospital, I looked at him, he had lost 13 kilograms, was exhausted, with catheters and tubes everywhere.
I told him, ‘Just be alive and healthy for us, you’ll do something, we’re with you.’ He turned to me, looked me deep in the eye, and said, ‘I’m coming back to basketball and I’ll be in the national team again.’
At that moment, it was 0.00001% realistic. Strength, will, desire, and here he is in the national team again. Everything is possible, people, you just have to never give up,” said uncle Mladen.
Simanić received applause from everyone in the “Aleksandar Nikolić” hall for his sacrifice and dedication. Everyone stood up and applauded, which was a small gesture of gratitude for a great sacrifice.
