The Higher Court in Užice has ruled to annul the elections in Kosjerić, specifically at polling station 25 – Elan. The reason stated is that a voter who was not registered on the voter list at all cast a ballot.
The explanation and judgment of the Higher Court, which Nova had access to, states that in the marked elections at polling station number 25, KJP “Elan” premises, a voter named Zdenka Josipović cast a ballot, who was not registered in the voter list extract for that polling station, but clearly signed under serial number 227 instead of Melentijević (Petronija) Jasmina.
In its judgment, based on the presented evidence, the Higher Court concluded that there was no basis to conclude that an irregularity had occurred at the polling station in question that would warrant upholding the objection and annulling the voting at that polling station, and that the voting was conducted entirely in accordance with the Law on Local Elections.
Voting is expected to be conducted within the next 10 days, with Sunday, June 29, being mentioned as the date.
We remind you that the coalition around the Serbian Progressive Party and the opposition’s “United for Kosjerić” are separated by only 51 votes.
According to the minutes for this polling station, there are 434 registered voters, of whom 350 cast ballots. The ruling coalition won 125 votes, while “United for Kosjerić” won 220 votes at that polling station.
