GREAT RECOGNITION FOR OUR PEOPLE IN AMERICA: Texas congresswoman supports initiative to make February Serbian-American Heritage Month!

Texas Congresswoman Veronica Escobar has supported a Resolution proposing that February be declared Serbian-American Heritage Month in the United States.

Escobar’s support further expands bipartisan backing for the initiative in the U.S. Congress, whose goal is to recognize generations of Serbs and Serbian Americans and their contributions to the development of the United States.

The Resolution has so far also been supported by Claudia Tenney of New York, Emanuel Cleaver of Missouri, Scott Fitzgerald of Wisconsin, Anna Paulina Luna of Florida, Victoria Spartz of Indiana, and Michael Cloud of Texas.

The proposed Resolution specifically highlights the contributions of the Serbian-American community in the fields of science, medicine, technology, business, the military, public life, culture, the arts, and sports.

The document also points to the importance of the longstanding relations between Serbia and the United States and the historical ties between the two countries.

The support of additional members of Congress represents another step toward broader recognition of the role and contributions of the Serbian community in American society.
