A police cordon is stationed in front of a wall in Liman, where a wall was painted in tricolor colors over the weekend, reports the portal 021.rs.
Last night, Novi Sad residents organized a rally in Liman to support a fellow citizen who was beaten by activists of the Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) on Sunday.
The “Boško Buha” Local Community Assembly called for a protest in support of the beaten neighbor today, August 12, at 8 PM, at the corner of Narodnog fronta and Dr Ivana Ribara streets. “We call on all fellow citizens to come together with as much noise as possible to support our neighbor who was brutally beaten in front of his building by SNS supporters who were painting facades,” the invitation stated.

MRKOVAČKI ON THE EVENTS IN LIMAN
Bojan Mrkovački from Novi Sad was brutally beaten during an SNS action of painting tricolors on facades in Liman. He stated that he expects the prosecution to launch an investigation into the event as soon as possible. He added that if this does not happen, he will do everything to get justice.
Mrkovački told Autonomija that no proceedings are being conducted against him, but that this case must have a judicial epilogue because it is obvious that the same thing could happen to any citizen tomorrow, with perhaps even a worse outcome.
“I know the one who hit me by name, and about twenty of them beat me—I don’t know them, but there are surveillance cameras. There were also two plainclothes inspectors who did not intervene at all. Everything is known about who did what and who didn’t,” Mrkovački said.
In addition to minor physical injuries he suffered all over his body, as well as injuries to his eye and cheekbone, which were confirmed by an examination at the Emergency Center, the SNS supporters also stole his mobile phone and car keys. This is an aggravated robbery that, as he added, the prosecution must pursue ex officio.
He told Autonomija that he went to Liman yesterday because he heard that something was happening with the facades and wanted to go to Fruškogorska Street to see the situation with the mural that had been painted over a hate graffiti the day before.
