A memorial service for Milovan Jovanović, the Serbian soldier who lost his life during a peacekeeping mission in southern Lebanon when a UN military base was bombed, will be held tomorrow at 9 a.m. at the Ribnica barracks in Kraljevo.

Senior Sergeant Milovan Jovanović was killed during a six-month peacekeeping mission in southern Lebanon when hostile forces attacked a United Nations military base. Two soldiers from Spain and El Salvador were also wounded in the attack.

Jovanović was supposed to remain on the peacekeeping mission for another month before returning to his home military base at the Jovo Kursula barracks in Kraljevo.

Numerous colleagues from Serbia and other countries accompanied the body of the fallen soldier from Beirut. The body is expected to arrive at Belgrade Airport during the day.

Flags have already been lowered to half-mast today at the barracks in his hometown, where the memorial service will be held tomorrow at 9 a.m., after which the body will be escorted to the cemetery in the Kovači neighborhood.

A Day of Mourning has been declared in Kraljevo for tomorrow.
