A large number of people responded to the call of students from the Faculty of Mechanical and Civil Engineering in Kraljevo to show support for Metropolitan Justin.
Namely, the students yesterday invited all colleagues and citizens to attend the liturgy today in the Church of Saint Sava in that city and thus express their support for Metropolitan Justin, who, as they stated, stood by his people and through his words confirmed that the students are on the right path of truth.
The liturgy was held this morning, and as can be seen in videos posted on social media, a large number of people responded to the students’ call and showed support for the metropolitan, who, due to his public support for student and civic protests, is often the target of pro-regime media.
“The people made it clear this morning that they will defend their metropolitan! Many remained outside, there was no room,” reads the caption of a video showing the church filled with people praying and listening to the liturgy.
Metropolitan Justin of Žiča is the only bishop living in Serbia who stood by the students. He has long been supporting students and criticizing the authorities in Serbia, warning them that “power is not given for violence, but for service.”
