A hand grenade was most likely thrown into the yard of a house registered to Zoran Matijević, the son of Petar Matijević, owner of the Matijević Meat Industry, causing minor damage to the building’s facade.
The house is located on the Pet Danica Promenade in the Savina neighborhood of Herceg Novi. According to the information available so far, no one was injured in the incident.
At around 8:05 p.m. last night, Zoran Matijević contacted the duty service of the Herceg Novi Security Department by phone and reported that an explosion had occurred in the yard of his home. After arriving at the scene, police officers determined that an explosive device—most likely a hand grenade—had been detonated in the yard. The blast caused minor damage to the facade of the house, while media reports state that several windows were also shattered by the explosion.

The competent state prosecutor at the Basic State Prosecutor’s Office in Herceg Novi has been notified. Acting on the prosecutor’s orders, police officers will conduct a crime scene investigation and thoroughly document all the circumstances surrounding the attack.
Zoran Matijević is the son of Petar Matijević, who entered the meat business in 1991 by opening the MIM craft and trading company, which later grew into one of Serbia’s best-known meat producers. The family’s expansion into the real estate and hotel sectors has further increased its public profile, making this incident particularly significant given the Matijević family’s prominent position in the regional business community.
