LONG QUEUES FOR THE STUDENT LIST ACROSS SERBIA: Citizens in Belgrade waited for more than six hours to sign support!

Citizens signed their support for the student list over the previous weekend, and long queues were noticeable both in Belgrade and in other cities across Serbia. At some locations in the capital, according to FPN student Adrijan Kraljević, people waited for more than six hours to leave their signature of support. He does not know exactly how many signatures the students collected, but that will be known this afternoon, when they hand over the list to the RIK. Students invited citizens to gather at five in the afternoon in front of the Rectorate, from where they will set off on a walk to the RIK to submit the signatures.

He states for N1 that citizens continued to stand in line even after finding out they would not make it to turn. In certain places, he adds, the signing was planned to last until eight in the evening, but was extended until nine so that everyone could get their turn.

Kraljević stated that they are extremely satisfied with the response and thanked all citizens for their support.

When asked what their biggest challenges were, he stated that it was “symmetry in logistics, where the chronic unavailability of notaries and municipal certifiers significantly hampered the whole process.”

“But despite that, people were ready to stand all day and give their support,” he said.

He considers that it was a matter of “certain sabotages in order to slow down the process and perhaps reduce the numbers, but I think people waited tirelessly, and that they really didn’t care how long they would stand in line, because the only thing that mattered was for us to be there together on the street and all gather together.”

Commenting on how the Progressives collected more than 200,000 signatures in less than 24 hours, he assesses that there must have been a “monopolization of public resources for them to reach those numbers.”

He recalls that students collected signatures for two days, and if it had lasted longer, they definitely would have collected many more signatures.

He also states that many citizens are participating in organizing actions, and that yesterday, in addition to providing support, they also participated in logistics.

“Only together can we put an end to this corruption and injustice, which means that on October 25th we will all win,” he emphasized.
