JUSTICE IS SLOW, BUT IT IS WITHIN REACH: Court Orders Professor Marija Vasić to Be Urgently Reinstated at Jovina High School!

The Basic Court in Novi Sad has ruled that suspended sociology professor Marija Vasić be reinstated at “Jovan Jovanović Zmaj” High School.

Professor Vasić announced the information on Facebook.

“The Basic Court in Novi Sad issued a ruling on a temporary measure ordering that Marija Vasić from Novi Sad be immediately and without delay reinstated to her position as a sociology teacher at ‘Jovan Jovanović Zmaj’ High School until the conclusion of the disciplinary proceedings… No appeal is permitted against this decision,” she wrote.

The court issued a similar ruling on July 31 in the case of Professor Rima Grujić.

The principal of Jovina High School, Radivoje P. Stojković, was supposed to comply with the court’s order within eight days, but has not yet done so.

In May, Stojković removed six Jovina High School teachers from teaching: Marija Vasić, Rima Grujić, Jovan Travica, Danijela Grujić, Dragan Vulić and Biljana Prlina.

A rally in support of the suspended teachers was held on May 21 in front of the Mechanical Engineering School, one of the schools to which classes from Jovina High School had previously been relocated by the principal’s decision.
