Minister of Culture Nikola Selaković said tonight that the construction of a business complex on the site of the General Staff building, which was hit during the 1999 bombing in Belgrade, would be a kind of apology to Serbia from the U.S. administration.
“On the part of Donald Trump and his administration, that would essentially be a kind of serious apology to Serbia for everything that was done,” Selaković told the First Program of Radio Belgrade.
The Prosecutor’s Office for Organized Crime has accused Selaković and three other representatives of state institutions of enabling the General Staff complex, which was destroyed during the 1999 NATO bombing, to lose its status as a protected cultural heritage site by falsifying documents.
