On the night between February 1st and 2nd, at the 68th Grammy Awards in Los Angeles, the music world received a story that sounds almost like a movie. Miloš Angelov, born in Belgrade, known today as a producer under the artistic name Don Mills, won two Grammy awards for his work on the hit single “Folded” by American R&B star Kehlani.
The song, released on June 13, 2025, became one of the most significant R&B moments of last year. At the Grammy ceremony, it was awarded in the categories of Best R&B Song and Best R&B Performance, and Angelov, as one of the authors and producers, was a key part of the team behind both recognitions.
Miloš’s musical story begins in Belgrade, through classical education on the violin and an early developed sense for music. As a teenager, he moved with his family to Toronto, where he continued his education, but also entered the music world more seriously. Initially as a bassist and live musician, then as a sought-after studio collaborator, and over time he completely transitioned into the world of production and composing.
Under the name Don Mills, Angelov spent years building a reputation through collaborations with artists of various genres – from hip-hop and R&B to pop and soul. His recognizable sound was created from a blend of classical musical knowledge, instrumental precision, and modern production techniques. Today, his compositions and production work count hundreds of millions of streams worldwide.
“Folded” is an emotional R&B track that combined sophisticated production and introspective lyrics, broke onto the Billboard Hot 100, and became the song that marked the year. The Grammy recognitions are just official confirmation of its influence.
This success is not only the personal victory of one producer, but also a strong confirmation that talent from this region can leave a deep mark on the global music scene.
