Brian Walshe, whose trial began on suspicion that on January 1, 2023, he killed his wife, Belgrade native Ana Walshe, in the family home in Cohasset, and then dismembered her body and threw it into recycling containers, searched for a famous serial killer known for packing his victims in black plastic bags on the internet before the gruesome crime.

In fact, according to investigators, Walshe allegedly took parts of his wife’s body in black garbage bags to the locations where he disposed of them.

Massachusetts State Trooper Nicholas Guarino testified yesterday in court that Brian Walshe searched for Patrick Kearney, a serial killer who dumped his victims in garbage bags, on his laptop. In fact, Kearney, according to available information on the internet, confessed to 18 murders. He was known for butchering and cutting his victims and then discarding their remains in bags, just as Walshe is suspected to have done with his wife.

In fact, during the first day of the trial, the prosecutor stated that Walshe put Ana’s remains in black garbage bags and then threw them into dumpsters near his mother’s house.

Brian Walshe previously pleaded guilty to improper disposal of his wife’s body, which was never found, but denied killing her.

In addition to the serial killer, as Trooper Guarino said during yesterday’s trial, Walshe also searched for and watched pornography before his wife’s murder.

– On December 27, 2022, a pornographic video about an unfaithful wife was watched on the laptop – the officer said and clarified that he could not claim that Walshe himself searched for a video with exactly that content, but that analysis showed that he watched such pornographic films.

Walshe’s defense attorney, Larry Tipton, tried to convince the jury after this statement by the officer that “whoever was using the device that night was choosing videos featuring an actress he likes.”

To recall, one of the possible motives for Ana Walshe’s murder is her affair with a colleague in Washington, which investigators suspect Brian Walshe also found out about.

Also, in the courtroom before the jury, which will decide whether Walshe killed his wife after the presentation of evidence, internet searches from January 1, 2023, were also shown, which were performed on their six-year-old son’s iPad and relate to the destruction of a body and the removal of evidence.

Walshe searched the internet for “how to dispose of a woman’s body” On January 1, 2023, at 4:52 a.m., Brian Walshe began searching the internet for the “best way to dispose of a body,” which is why investigators suspect that he killed his wife Ana in the house just before that. The following searches followed:

4:54 a.m. – “10 ways to dispose of a corpse”

4:55 a.m. – How long does it take for a body to start smelling?

9:33 a.m. – How long does DNA stay?

9:35 a.m. – Can identification be made from partial human remains?

9:59 a.m. – How to dispose of a mobile phone? and how to dispose of a computer?

10:29 a.m. – My wife is missing, what should I do?

11:28 a.m. – blog post titled “6 ways to deal with a body.”

11:50 a.m. – Can I use bleach to clean wooden floors from blood stains?

He also allegedly clicked on an article titled “Want to get away with murder? Use a special detergent.”

Walshe also performed several searches after noon on the use of hydrogen peroxide to remove blood stains.

According to the officer who retrieved the digital searches from the computer, Brian Walshe asked dozens of questions about cleaning traces and disposing of a body on January 1.

The next day he searched for:

– How to saw a body, the best tool for dismembering a body, can you be charged with murder if there is no body, conviction for murder if there is no body, can a body with broken teeth be identified, throwing a body in the trash, how to remove a hard drive from an Apple laptop – the searches from January 2 from 12:27 p.m. to 2:01 p.m. were read.

According to the evidence, Walshe continued similar searches on January 3, while Ana Walshe’s disappearance had not yet been reported. At around 5 a.m. that day, he read an article on the internet titled “Cleaning blood without leaving a trace – 5 tips.”

– At 1:05 p.m. the same day he searched for “body found in a garbage dump,” then “can a body decompose in a plastic bag.”

Walshe then searched “can the police get your search history without your computer” – it was said in the courtroom. Investigator Guarino also stated that there were no more searches on the computer from January 4 at 8:55 a.m. to January 7 at 3:58 p.m.

– Investigators searched the contents of a waste dumpster on January 9, 2023, where they believed Brian Walshe had discarded evidence near his mother’s residential complex a few days earlier – said Cohasset Police Department Sergeant Harrison Smith.

A photograph of a Covid vaccination card in Ana Walshe’s name, which was found in one of the dumpsters, was shown to the jury yesterday, along with a photograph of boots and a black coat.

Brian Walshe’s defense counsel stated for the first time on Monday at the beginning of the trial that Brian Walshe lied when he claimed not to know where his wife was in the first days after her disappearance, trying to convince the jury members that he found her dead in the marital bed but that he did not kill her, and that he panicked at that moment.
