President Aleksandar Vučić this morning announced violence against students in blockades in the coming months, saying that he would “physically protect them from the people.”
“In three months, I will be one of those who will physically protect the blockaders from the people. Remember my words, you will not wait longer than three months. I will protect them from the attacks of ordinary and embittered people because of everything the blockaders have done in the previous seven months. Because they have no other purpose than to try something by force,” Vučić said as a guest on RTS.
He reiterated that “too much foreign money has been invested” in student protests, but again provided no evidence for his claims.
Vučić also hinted at police intervention during the student rally for Vidovdan.
“I see a positive situation in the second half of the year, especially when everything falls apart for them on Vidovdan. When the state reacts as necessary, from that moment on, we will show full seriousness and return to the most important things – building Serbia,” Vučić said.
When asked about the Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) rally for Vidovdan, he said that “they certainly will not have a large gathering,” but rather, as he said, a “literary evening” will be held “in Ćaciland” on either the 27th or 28th.
“We are considering Novi Sad – June 28th or July 5th,” Vučić said.
Vučić again repeated claims about the previously stated thesis of a “color revolution,” saying that “everyone will face justice – from RTS, to the prosecution, police, judiciary.”
