Serbian shooters Zorana Arunović and Damir Mikec have added another medal to Serbia’s impressive streak at the European Championship in Osijek.

They won bronze in the mixed pairs pistol competition, which is the fourth medal overall for Serbia at the championship.

Zorana and Damir have returned to the path they were on for almost ten years in Osijek, with one break.

Mixed pairs competitions have been in the official program of the European Championship since 2016, and our excellent tandem only missed out on a medal at last year’s European Championship in Győr. The string of successes has continued after a one-year break.

The Olympic champions collected 573 points in the qualifications and advanced to the bronze medal match in third place. Their rivals were old acquaintances, Bulgarian shooters Kostadinova and Kirov.

Arunović and Mikec started the match well, taking a 4:0 lead, but the Bulgarians managed to equalize at 5:5. Serbia regained a four-point advantage (9:5), but the Bulgarians did not give up. Serbia had the first match point at 15:11, but a new equalizer soon followed – 15:15.

In the decisive series, our aces were more precise and reached bronze with a 17:15 victory.

Let us recall that Arunović and Mikec were declared the best shooters in Serbia in 2024.
