The news of the death of the legendary Dusko Vujosevic has shaken the entire basketball Europe.

BC Bayern Munich shared a statement from coach Svetislav Pesic, who said goodbye to Vujosevic with touching words:

-Dusko Vujosevic was one of the best European coaches of all time. His trophies are the numerous players he discovered and made better. He had a specific training method, which made him unique – Pesic stated.

Sale Djordjevic said goodbye to Dule

Sasa Djordjevic, a legend of Yugoslav basketball and the former head coach of Serbia, said goodbye to Dusko Vujosevic.

Vujosevic passed away after a long and difficult illness, and Djordjevic shared a farewell message.

“Rest in peace, Dule. Your uniqueness will leave a great void in basketball. Your players and all sporting friends will never forget you. Thank you, Coach,” Djordjevic wrote.

The two collaborated at Partizan, where Dule was an assistant coach for two years from 1985 to 1989 and the head coach of the first team for two years, as well as in the 1990-1991 season when Vujosevic led the Black-and-Whites again and where Djordjevic was one of the team leaders.

EuroLeague and Dejan Bodiroga spoke out

On the occasion of the departure of the legendary strategist at the age of 67, the EuroLeague released a touching statement, and the president of the elite competition, Dejan Bodiroga, also paid tribute to him.

Under a title celebrating the immortality of his work, the basketball community says goodbye to a man who lived basketball with every atom of his being.

“We lost one of the greatest teachers”

The President of the EuroLeague, Dejan Bodiroga, pointed out that Vujosevic’s influence transcends the boundaries of the court, emphasizing his role as a mentor and a symbol of integrity.

“European and Serbian basketball have lost one of their most passionate minds and most dedicated teachers. Dusko Vujosevic was a man of basketball, a mentor, and a symbol of integrity and dedication to the game. His influence shaped generations of players and coaches, leaving an indelible mark on our sport. On behalf of the EuroLeague, I express my deepest condolences to his family, friends, and everyone who had the privilege to learn from him. His legacy will continue to live on every court, in every team, and in every young player who carries his love for basketball,” Bodiroga stated.

The EuroLeague recalled Vujosevic’s journey, which lasted more than five decades, the greater part of which was inextricably linked to Partizan.
