The winner of the 36th World Championship in dyed Easter egg tapping in Mokrin is Ivana Prodanovic, while the title in the junior competition went to Dusan Terzic.
In the search for the champion egg, both had the help and support of their families, and as they say, the main characteristics of a hard chicken egg are a good sound and normal size.
The title of world champion in dyed Easter egg tapping this year in Mokrin was taken by Ivana Prodanovic, who was better than Milivoj Radojcin in the final.
A resident of the event’s host village, she already won in 2022, and the preparations for the competition lasted since the beginning of the year, when she started the search for the champion chicken egg with her father.
“In January I started looking for the egg”
“The search for the egg begins in January. Mostly, we look for a good sound and that the egg is of normal size,” said Ivana Prodanovic, world champion.
The champion title remained in Mokrin in the junior competition as well, as Dusan Terzic defeated Georgije Malencic.
Dusan’s path to first place was not easy.

“This is my first time participating. My grandfather helped me choose the egg, and we were choosing all winter,” says Dusan Terzic.
At the 36th World Championship in dyed Easter egg tapping, which is considered the central part of the Easter festivities in Mokrin, contestants participated mostly from the host village, but also from other cities and countries. Devotion and experience are, however, what bring the best results:
“Those who work, specifically those who raise chickens, search for a hard egg and they win. Someone who truly has a hard egg and who deals with it intensively always wins. They are either in the final or in the closing stages,” explained Zivica Terzic, president of the competition commission.
