The commemoration for Dusko Vujosevic, a legend of Yugoslav basketball and BC Partizan, was held today starting at 10 AM at the Belgrade City Assembly, reports Sport Klub.
Many prominent figures came to say goodbye to Dusko Vujosevic. Ostoja Mijailovic on behalf of BC Partizan
The president of the Partizan Basketball Club spoke on behalf of the Black-and-Whites, the club where Vujosevic achieved his greatest successes.
“Dule’s love for Partizan was a lifelong commitment; it was part of his identity and part of his soul. He taught us that Partizan is not just basketball, but character, struggle, dignity, and the faith to never give up. Today, not just a coach is leaving, not just a legend, but a man who shaped generations and left a mark on everyone who knew him,” said Ostoja Mijailovic.
Nenad Krstic spoke in front of the BSS
The Vice President of the Basketball Federation of Serbia, Nenad Krstic, was one of the speakers at the commemoration.
“Today we say goodbye to a man who holds a special place in the history of Serbian basketball. Dule’s contribution is primarily reflected in the people and the system he created. Generations of young basketball players, from pioneers to seniors, passed through his work, and he created many national team players for our country,” said Nenad Krstic.
Farewell to Dusko Vujosevic
Following the death of Dusko Vujosevic, farewells were shared by the Partizan Basketball Club, Svetislav Pesic, Aleksandar Djordjevic, Aleksandar Petrovic, Dejan Bodiroga, former national team player Vladimir Stimac, basketball players Joffrey Lauvergne, Miroslav Beric, and many others.
BC Partizan and the club’s fans said their farewells to Vujosevic at the final EuroLeague game of this season, against Zalgiris in the Belgrade Arena.
