RIK adopted the forms for submitting electoral lists for the parliamentary elections on September 11, and the very next day the SNS list was submitted with more than 200,000 citizens’ signatures. The ruling party’s record speed in collecting signatures raised many questions, including questions about potentially illegitimate signatures.
Due to suspicions of irregularities throughout the process, the Center for Research, Transparency and Accountability – CRTA, published instructions on how citizens can check whether their signature was misused to support an electoral list.
Citizens who suspect that their signature was used without their knowledge to support one of the electoral lists for the parliamentary elections on October 25 can check whether their name appears among the signatories, CRTA says.
The organization points out that citizens can contact the Republic Electoral Commission (RIK) with a request to check which list their signature was given to.
This is a request to exercise the right of access to personal data, which can be submitted pursuant to Article 26 of the Law on the Protection of Personal Data.
“In this way, you can request that RIK inform you whether your data is contained in the documentation submitted with any of the electoral lists – in a specific statement of support or in the list of voters who supported the electoral list with their signatures. You can submit this request to RIK in person, by email or by mail,” CRTA said.

It should be recalled that actress Bojana Maljević recently also wrote about the misuse of signatures. Namely, she recalled a situation from 2023, when her forged signature appeared on the “Usame Zukorlić” list in the Belgrade elections.
At the time, she called on Zukorlić to go together to the prosecutor’s office so that it could be determined as soon as possible who was responsible for the forgery.

Three years later, Maljević says that the Prosecutor’s Office has still not responded.
“The Prosecutor’s Office has not responded to this day. I have written about this many times, and if anyone is still wondering how signatures are collected in an hour – this is how. In that regard, where is the municipal certifying officer who committed this criminal offense and what is she doing, and how many certifying officers have done the same thing again now? You have the right to ask RIK whether your name and signature appear on any list and on which one, and to report it if someone has misused your data,” Maljević warned.
At the time, journalist Jelena Zorić’s name was also among the forged signatures. As Zorić told Nova at the time, her name, without her knowledge, appeared on two electoral lists – “Ćale, ovo je za tebe” and “Srbija na Zapadu.”
It should be recalled that the snap parliamentary elections are scheduled for October 25.
