The Vasiljević law firm, which represents the former chief of the Belgrade police Veselin Milić, announced today that it has filed a criminal complaint against unidentified persons, employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
“We inform the public that today, August 10, we filed a criminal complaint with the Higher Public Prosecutor’s Office in Belgrade against unidentified persons, officers of the MUP of the RS, due to the existence of grounds for suspicion that they committed the criminal offense of Abuse of Official Position under Article 359, paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code of the RS, and to the detriment of our client Veselin Milić,” it is stated.
This criminal complaint, as explained in the announcement, was filed because they believe there are grounds for suspicion that Veselin Milić is being persecuted and tracked, based on official data about his movements provided to persons from the criminal environment by unidentified persons, officers of the MUP of the RS who have access to this data.
“Also, through persons from the criminal environment, recordings probably made by an official drone were presented to the public, in which recordings it is falsely presented that the injured party is Veselin Milić, while swimming in the pool of some villa in the Republic of Montenegro, and it is also falsely claimed that Veselin Milić is allegedly the owner of that facility,” says the announcement of the Vasiljević law firm.
“As we have already pointed out, these are untrue claims that continue the reputational persecution of Veselin Milić started on May 15, 2026. However, what is particularly worrying now is that in addition to the placement of false information, this time a physical persecution is being undertaken against Veselin Milić, which is carried out based on information and means obtained from official persons of the MUP,” Milić’s lawyers believe.
“Keeping in mind not so recent experiences when information from certain persons from the MUP obtained on the basis of unauthorized tracking led to the most serious criminal offenses, we considered it necessary to inform the public about this in addition to filing a criminal complaint,” the announcement states.
They also note that Veselin Milić, as they claim, has no prohibition or restriction of movement, nor any other measure within the criminal procedure.
Criminal complaint against Marko Kričak
“We also remind that we filed a criminal complaint against the head of the Criminal Police Directorate Marko Kričak and the head of the Crime Suppression Service Boško Sekulović due to the existence of grounds for suspicion for the commission of the criminal offense Abuse of Official Position under Article 359, paragraph 1 committed in a way that by failing to submit key evidence to the Higher Public Prosecutor’s Office in Belgrade they caused the unfounded criminal prosecution and arrest of Veselin Milić,” they state and add:
“In connection with this, we also remind of the presumption of innocence of every citizen against whom a criminal procedure is initiated, and thus also of Veselin Milić. It is clear from this that no legitimate interest for the movement of him and his family exists and cannot be supported by the public, because in addition to violating their privacy and disclosing personal data, which is a criminal offense in itself, the safety of Veselin Milić and his family is primarily threatened, especially keeping in mind that some of the persons who in the previous days on social networks ‘dealt with’ tracking Veselin Milić and his family are persons from the criminal environment, and some even directly connected with persons that Veselin Milić as an officer of the MUP processed even for the most serious criminal offenses”.
They believe that the public will understand that such actions are not only an attack on Veselin Milić but potentially open the door for a similar type of treatment towards every member of our community.
