Serbian shot put national team member Armin Sinančević qualified for the European Championship final in Birmingham, and tonight from 21:30 he will fight for the winner’s podium.
The guy from Prijepolje was the second Serbian representative on the first day of the Old Continent championship, following the great performance of young Luka Bošković in the long jump discipline.
In the first series, Armin Sinančević threw the shot put 19.25 meters, which placed him in seventh place at that moment. By subsequent review, however, it was determined that the Serbian athlete committed a foul, so the result was canceled.
The second attempt was not successful either, as Sinančević fouled again and found himself in an unenviable situation before the last throw in the qualifications.
When it was needed most, the Serbian national team member responded with a great third attempt. He threw the shot put 20.20 meters, which brought him the fifth result of the qualifications.
The best result belonged to Italian Leonardo Fabbri with 21.29 meters, second was Czech Tomáš Staněk with 20.66 m, and third Nick Ponzio from Italy with 20.48 m.
After two unsuccessful attempts, Sinančević showed class in the third series and achieved a result that secured him a place among the best, and you can follow the broadcast of the fight for the medal in the evening hours on RTS 2.
