Actor Val Kilmer, known for his roles as Batman and Jim Morrison, has passed away at the age of 65.
Throughout his career, Kilmer received numerous accolades and was known for his charismatic yet unpredictable nature. At one point, he withdrew from Hollywood for an entire decade.
Born in Hollywood, Kilmer played leading roles, including Jim Morrison and Batman, yet his versatile talent and enigmatic personality did not always align with leading-man status.
He passed away on Tuesday in Los Angeles, with the cause of death being pneumonia, his daughter, Mercedes Kilmer, stated. She revealed that he had been diagnosed with throat cancer in 2014 but later recovered.

The New York Times described him as tall and handsome, like a rock star. In the early stages of his career, Kilmer frequently played musicians, giving the impression that he was destined for major film success.
He made his feature film debut in “Top Secret!” (1984), a Cold War spy satire, where he portrayed an American singer who dazzles audiences in Berlin, only to inadvertently become entangled in an East German conspiracy to reunite the country, reports Danas.rs.
Kilmer delivered a strikingly stylized portrayal of Morrison, the symbol of psychedelic sensuality, in Oliver Stone’s film “The Doors” (1991). He also played a cameo role as Mentor — an imagined version of Elvis Presley giving advice to the antihero played by Christian Slater in “True Romance” (1993), a violent, drug-fueled action thriller written by Quentin Tarantino and directed by Tony Scott.
