Trump ally Charlie Kirk was shot at an event in Utah, writes CNN.
The extent of Kirk’s injuries is not currently known.
The University of Utah issued a statement saying that “one shot was fired on campus at a visiting lecturer,” and that the suspect is in custody and police are investigating the case.
The FBI announced that it is “closely monitoring” reports of the shooting involving Charlie Kirk at the University of Utah.
“Our thoughts are with Charlie, his loved ones, and all those who have been affected. Agents will be at the scene quickly, and the FBI fully supports the ongoing response and investigation,” FBI Director Kash Patel wrote on X.
