An explosive device was detonated in the yard of a family home in Starčevo this evening, leaving one person dead and two others injured. The injured were urgently transported and admitted to the competent medical facility, Serbia’s Ministry of the Interior (MUP) announced.

Police officers immediately secured the scene.

The investigation is ongoing and is being conducted in cooperation with the Higher Public Prosecutor’s Office in Pančevo.

Members of the Ministry of the Interior are intensively undertaking all measures and actions within their jurisdiction to establish all the facts, the exact circumstances, as well as the immediate cause that led to the detonation of the explosive device.
