A sad day for Serbs in America. Miloš Jovanović (36), originally from Leskovac, tragically lost his life yesterday in the state of Indiana. He was a husband and father of three young children, aged 3, 8, and 10.

Miloš died while waiting for his truck to be unloaded.

According to the police report, he was fatally injured when a load (a package of 38 pipes) fell on him due to careless handling by a forklift operator at the unloading site.

Doctors pronounced him dead at the scene.

Miloš Jovanović was a beloved father, son, husband, and loyal friend, and his death has shocked his family and those who knew him.

A group of his friends, wanting to help his family, especially his children, who have now lost their beloved father and sole provider, has launched a fundraising campaign via a GoFundMe page.

“With heavy hearts, we share the sudden passing of our dear friend, Miloš, who tragically lost his life at work. He was a kind soul who dedicated his entire life to his family. Mišo will be missed more than words can express. His kindness, his laughter, his love—these are the things that will stay with us. We will carry his memory in our hearts, forever cherishing the moments we shared and the love he gave so generously. Rest in peace, Mišo. You will never be forgotten, and we will always miss you,” reads the message signed by Marina Božilović on behalf of Miloš’s friends. Those who wish to help can do so via THIS LINK!

The Serbian Times editorial team expresses its deepest and most sincere condolences to the family of Miloš Jovanović and urges everyone who is able to donate.
