During an electronic session of the Senate of the University of Belgrade, two expert working groups were formed to conduct a professional assessment of the fulfillment of student demands by the institutions, according to a statement from the University of Belgrade Rectorate. The statement adds that the working groups consist of university professors and experts from various fields.
“The task of the expert working groups is to prepare a report based on available documentation and professional analysis, which will be presented to the expanded rector’s collegium and student plenums. Their role is to provide an expert opinion so that the plenums can make informed decisions about further steps based on verified facts,” the statement reads.

As a reminder, Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić invited the Rector’s Collegium of the University of Belgrade to begin a dialogue on Wednesday, February 5, at a time convenient for them, in order to find a solution to the ongoing situation, in which classes at higher education institutions remain blocked.
However, a day after the invitation was issued, the Rector’s Collegium decided not to accept the invitation under the current circumstances. They emphasized that the University of Belgrade once again insists on the fulfillment of student demands by the relevant institutions and that “dialogue must take place in an atmosphere of mutual respect between all relevant actors, with trust in institutions and within the framework of individual competencies.”
