He is a beneficiary of the Red Cross and the Soup Kitchen, he has no roof over his head, yet he gives others the only thing he has, and that is blood. Prvoslav Glavonjić from Čačak is an example of quiet, everyday heroic kindness. He teaches us that even the smallest gesture, if it comes from the heart, can save a life. Thanks to his big heart, hundreds of lives have been saved so far.
Prvoslav has donated blood around 130 times so far, while nearly 100 donations have been officially recorded, ranking him among the most dedicated voluntary blood donors in Serbia.

“I donated blood for the first time a long time ago, maybe I was a little over 20 years old. In this way, I want to help others. Considering that I have saved many lives, I feel proud and good. My blood type is O positive, and I urge everyone who is able to donate blood, to save lives and help the Red Cross,” Prvoslav Glavonjić, a voluntary blood donor, told RINA.
Blood type O positive is one of the most common, but also the most in-demand. In Japanese culture, people with this blood type are believed to be warriors and fighters. According to Nataša Cvijović, director of the Red Cross in Čačak, Prvoslav is exactly like that, a man who constantly battles life’s challenges, yet remains consistent in his mission to help others.

“Prvoslav is a great fighter and extremely humane and noble. All of this might be just another ordinary story in Serbia, but Prvoslav is someone who has no roof over his head. He is a beneficiary of the Red Cross and the soup kitchen, and yet he gives the community what he only has, and what is most precious. If we look at the numbers, three lives are saved from one unit of blood, Prvoslav has saved at least 300 people. As for housing, he manages, because he really has no roof over his head,” concluded Nataša Cvijović.
This story strongly reminds us that the true greatness of a person lies in their deeds, empathy, and humanity. Perhaps Prvoslav is not materially wealthy, but he certainly is in the qualities that adorn a good and noble person.
