The coach of Serbia, Svetislav Pešić, gave a statement before the trip to EuroBasket, in which he referred to the decision to cross out Dejan Davidovac, Nikola Topić, and Balša Koprivica from the list at the last minute.
The basketball players of Serbia traveled to Riga on Monday, where they are expected to perform at the European Championship in the coming weeks.
Before the trip, coach Pešić gave a statement for “Sport Klub”, in which he talked about the guys he crossed out last – Nikola Topić, Balša Koprivica, and Dejan Davidovac.
-Of course, they wanted to play in the European Championship, but what can we do. It was a good conversation, I hope that everything is arranged in a way that they would like, except that they are unfortunately not with us now. They are always with us. Life in Serbia does not end here, there will be more championships and these are players who are counted on. Topić and Koprivica are candidates for the Olympic Games. Davidovac is one of the most important and he is part of the team, but now he is not physically ready.
The Eagles are in group A, along with the host Latvia, as well as Portugal, Estonia, the Czech Republic, and Turkey.
