On the records of the Health Insurance Fund in Montenegro, there are 106 active insured persons who are over 100 years old. The oldest is 116 and was born in 1910, the HIF stated for TVCG.
The HIF said that in their records they have a total of 587,266 insured persons, the RTCG portal reported.
“While there are 106 active insured persons older than 100 in the database. The oldest insured person is 116 years old, according to data from the system, and his date of birth in the system is 10.02.1910.”, it was stated from the HIF.
According to data from the Population Census of the Statistical Office Monstat from 2023, the average age of the population in Montenegro is 39.73 years. Looking by municipalities, the population of Plužine is on average the oldest at 47.32 years, and of Rožaje the youngest with an average of 35.83 years.
Children aged 0-5 years, representing the preschool age, make up 6.85 percent of the total population. Primary-school age, aged 6-14 years, makes up 11.18 percent, while secondary-school age, aged 15-18 years, makes up 4.63 percent of the total population.
The population from 0 to 14 years of age makes up 18.03 percent of the total population. The working-age population (from 15-64 years) makes up 65.13 percent, while the population aged 65 and over makes up 16.84 percent.
