The victory of Donald Trump in the U.S. presidential election could lead to the stabilization of conditions in Bosnia and Herzegovina, stated today the President of the Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik.
Dodik believes that the U.S. elections clearly took place in a democratic atmosphere and described Trump’s victory as a significant achievement, as reported by RTRS.
He reminded that Republika Srpska was clearly positioned and has always hoped for Trump’s return to the White House, and now that has been realized.
“We never stopped supporting Trump, because the administration led by Biden was very unjust and malicious toward the position of the Serbian people,” said Dodik.
He noted that the “Dayton Agreement was violated,” an agreement that was created in America under the administration of the Democratic Party, and that those who wanted to finish the unfinished work had returned to the political scene, putting Bosnia and Herzegovina in an almost impossible situation.
“That is why it was important to support Trump and expect his victory, because only in that way could we count on the stabilization of our conditions. It is clear that Trump’s administration was more moderate and provided an opportunity for an agreement in Bosnia and Herzegovina,” said Dodik.

He emphasized that the greatest progress in the agreement within Bosnia and Herzegovina occurred during Trump’s first administration, but all of that was thwarted by the subsequent administration of Joseph Biden and his officials, such as U.S. Ambassador Michael Murphy.
If it is not possible to return to the original Dayton Agreement and the framework of the Constitution of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Dodik believes the only reasonable solution is to preserve peace in Bosnia and Herzegovina and create possible political arrangements.
“But if none of that is possible, then the best option is to part ways and attempt to build an entirely new opportunity. Over the next four years, that will be the main process in Bosnia and Herzegovina,” said the President of Republika Srpska, adding that he had supported Trump’s election campaign during the pre-election period and had encouraged the Serbian community in the U.S. to support the Republican candidate, as reported by Tanjug.
