A married couple from Serbia died in a serious traffic accident that occurred on Thursday in Bulgaria, near the village of Cherniche.
According to the Ilindenpres portal, as reported by Blic, the couple was rushed to a hospital in Blagoevgrad with severe injuries following the crash, but the 54-year-old woman lost her battle for life on Friday.
Her 52-year-old husband was transferred to a hospital in Sofia due to extremely serious injuries, but doctors were unable to save his life, and he died on Friday evening.
According to Bulgarian media, the Serbian couple was traveling in a car with Bor license plates, which was involved in a chain-reaction collision with two trucks.
The accident happened on the E-79 highway when the car carrying the Serbian citizens struck one truck and then collided with another. Two emergency medical teams—one from Blagoevgrad and another from Simitli—were immediately dispatched to the scene, along with firefighters.
