Members of the Serbian canoe sprint national team visited the Holy Trinity Church in Montreal on July 12, offering thanks to God after winning two gold medals at the Canoe Sprint World Cup held in the Canadian city.

The delegation included athletes Marko Dragosavljević, Žarko Jakovljević, Branko Lagundžić, and Veljko Vještica, along with national team coach Simo Boltić. According to a statement from the parish, the athletes chose to visit the church immediately after the competition as an expression of gratitude for their success.

During the visit, the team donated one of its World Cup gold medals to the Holy Trinity Church as a token of thanks. The athletes also presented an official Serbian national team jersey to Father Vladimir Vranić. The parish described the gifts as a lasting reminder of the team’s visit and a symbol of the spiritual bond that unites Serbs in their homeland and throughout the diaspora.

Father Vladimir thanked the athletes for their generosity and wished them good health, peace, and continued success in their sporting careers.

The parish said the visit demonstrated that faith, humility, and gratitude to God remain the enduring foundations of true success, adding that the team’s gesture reflects the close relationship between the Church and Serbia’s sporting community.
