SECOND DEATH IN KOLUBARA IN A WEEK: Radljevo mine worker killed after a load fell on him from a crane!

A serious accident occurred early this morning at the Radljevo open-pit mine in the “Kolubara” Mining Basin, in which worker Milivoje Stevanović (42) from Mirosaljci was killed, while his colleague Marko L. from Šopić suffered serious bodily injuries.

The accident occurred while a return drum was being loaded onto a trailer of the so-called “towing train,” whose drivers were the deceased and the injured worker.

According to unofficial information from the scene, the crane cable snapped during the loading operation, after which Stevanović was killed at the scene.

His colleague Marko L. was urgently transported to hospital with serious injuries and, according to initial information, is not in life-threatening condition.

This is already the second fatality in Kolubara in just one week. Previously, a 22-year-old man from Baroševac was killed at the “Polje E” open-pit mine when a bulldozer struck him during a shift handover.

The deadly streak in the mines continued the following day, when another tragedy was recorded at the Kostolac mine, in which another worker was also killed.

The relevant services and inspectors are at the scene to determine all the circumstances and causes of the accident.
