Police in Kragujevac detained a 17-year-old minor on Wednesday on suspicion that he violated the Law on Public Order and Peace at the “Serbia is Winning – SNS” stand.
The Kragujevac Police Department (PU) will file a misdemeanor report against the minor on suspicion that earlier today, on Bulevar kraljice Marije in Kragujevac, he removed and threw away two flags bearing the name of the Serbian Progressive Party from the party’s stand.
The Higher Public Prosecutor’s Office in Kragujevac was informed of the incident and determined that there were no elements of a criminal offense, the Kragujevac Police Department announced.
The minor will be brought before a judge of the Misdemeanor Court in Kragujevac along with the misdemeanor report.
On Bulevar kraljice Marije, supporters have been engaged for six consecutive days in a standoff, with two banners reading “Serbia is Winning” displayed on the sidewalk, while banners reading “Students are Winning” have been hung on the pedestrian overpass, 30 meters away, by students and the United Citizens of Kragujevac.
The two groups have been competing for months over which side will put up its banners on the pedestrian overpass (Blue Bridge).
