The activist and fitness instructor from Prokuplje, Suzana Jovic, known from the photograph in which she “defies” members of the Gendarmery, in front of the fountain on Slavija Square, at the Vidovdan protest on June 28, 2025, and who also attended the student gathering this past Saturday, May 23, was detained by the police at her workplace today, Nova.rs learns.
Judging by the photographs and videos, which she regularly publishes on her profiles on social networks, Suzana does not miss student protests, and she is recognizable by the red tracksuit in which she always appears.
Suzana has been known to the public since the Vidovdan protest in 2025, when the now-famous photograph was taken, in which she stands alone in front of a police cordon near the fountain on Slavija, in her red tracksuit.
As expected, she also attended the large student gathering on Slavija, this past Saturday, May 23.
Namely, during the day, allegations appeared on social networks that Suzana was arrested at her workplace.

Following this information, we called the fitness studio in Nis, where she is employed, to verify the truth of the claims.
Her colleagues answered our call and confirmed to us that Suzana, as they suspect due to her participation in the protests, was detained today.
“Plainclothes police entered our fitness center around 2 p.m. Suzana was holding a training session, and they interrupted her halfway through and told her to come with them. They took her away without a word. After that, we called the police station in Nis to check if she was there and if she was well, but they didn’t want to give us information, so we don’t know anything more about her,” one of her colleagues from the center told Nova.rs.
