PESIMISM HAS CONQUERED CROATIA: As many as 70 percent of people believe the country is heading in the wrong direction, trust in the largest parties has fallen!

As many as 70 percent of Croats believe that the country is heading in the wrong direction, while the two leading parties, the ruling HDZ and the most influential opposition SDP, are recording a slight drop in support, according to the latest CRO Demoskop survey for July.

If the parliamentary elections had been conducted at the beginning of July, HDZ would still be the first choice with 27 percent of support, despite a visible decline over the last three months. The same trend is recorded by the strongest opposition party, SDP, which is now at 21.5 percent.

In third place is Mozemo! with 12.2 percent, which represents a slight increase compared to last month. Growth is also recorded by Most, which reached almost eight percent of support.

Far below, with support of around 2.2 percent, is the Homeland Movement – HDZ’s partner in the current government. The share of undecided voters is almost 17 percent.

The President of the Republic, Zoran Milanovic, is at the top of the list of the most positive, even after a new conflict with Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic regarding the deployment of the honorary protection unit to Paris. Milanovic has the support of almost 25 percent, which is a slight decrease compared to the previous month, and Plenkovic follows him with significantly fewer percentages.

Plenkovic, however, is first on the list of the most negative politicians with 34.3 percent, followed by Milanovic with 12.5 percent. The survey was conducted in an atmosphere of conflict on the Pantovcak – Banski dvori route, but also during a slowdown in inflation, a heated tourist season, and the Football World Cup, reports Net.hr.

The survey was conducted among 1,000 respondents from June 30 to July 2.
