The team behind the “24 Minutes with Zoran Kesić” show addressed the public on their official Facebook profile following the news that the program will no longer be broadcast on TV Nova.
We are publishing their statement in full:
Fado Final (Fado for the End)
“With the sound of fallen leaves
That the wind carries,
Some new fado will be created,
Free from the shackles of time…”
With the words of the beautiful song “Fado Final” (Fado for the End) by legendary Amália Rodrigues, we say goodbye to Nova S viewers and invite them to continue watching all those shows they have enjoyed so far, which we ourselves will continue to watch.
To our female and male colleagues who are staying at the television station, we wish them perseverance in this job that we love more than anything in the world, and to keep tearing it up for as long as they can.
To all our colleagues who have been supporting us these days, offering help and airtime, perhaps even risking their positions in the process, we say – we expected nothing less from you because we know each other. We love you!
And finally, to all of you who will continue watching us in this new chapter of “our thing,” we promise – this is the last time we’ll bore you with Portuguese fado; soon we’ll be back with Serbian hardcore.
At the meeting we were invited to attend so that we could be informed of the final decision regarding the fate of our show, we spoke yesterday with an Englishman and a Dutchman, who conveyed to us the Portuguese position that they were no longer interested in broadcasting “24 Minutes” on Nova S.
In a joke, the Serb would come out as the smartest one and outwit them all in the end, but unfortunately, this time the Serb had no say in anything.
Still, by the end of this text, by God, he will have a say.
And so will the Serb, the Montenegrin, the Croat, the Bosniak and the Macedonian, even a couple of Slovenes whom we caught watching our show.
The Englishman was very disappointed by the Portuguese decision and said that he had done everything in his power to explain to them how important and valuable our little show is.
The Dutchman nodded in agreement because he had been a living witness to the Englishman’s superhuman efforts, but, well – the Portuguese are that kind of people: “they only look at the numbers, and the numbers for our show aren’t exactly anything to write home about.”
Then the Serb, prepared for every eventuality, pulled out a piece of paper (he wasn’t “missing one piece of paper”) and showed, in black and white, the official figures indicating that the television station makes a solid annual profit from our little show.
After all, in June this year, the Englishman did not mention any figures at all, but, aware of the importance and viewership of our show, very enthusiastically stated that the cooperation should certainly continue, under the same terms that had applied until then, and he even politely raised the price symbolically.
Contract signed, hand in hand – we’re not Turks.
Forget the Turks, it’s already too complicated.
The team behind our show is convinced that the only numbers that really matter in this whole story are the number of days, weeks and months we are counting down until the date of the elections in Serbia.
We conclude this from the fact that the new owners from Portugal, if they were already unhappy with the previously agreed terms and signed contract, never communicated that to us.

There is no new offer from them (apart from the already signed contract) that would lower the price of the show and bring it down to some financially acceptable level for them.
Which would supposedly allow “the wolf to be fed and the sheep to remain accounted for.”
However, in this case, the wolf can only be fed if it eats all the sheep.
The fact that the story about “poor numbers,” an “expensive show” and measures of “financial discipline” is just an excuse, or as the legendary Amália Rodrigues sang, “É mentira” (look it up),
is also supported by what we have learned, according to which, allegedly, there was discussion – and indeed it was even said out loud – in Portuguese circles that our show must under no circumstances begin before the elections, but that we should only start filming after the elections are over.
In that case, we presume, we wouldn’t be so expensive.
The Portuguese resented the fact that we spoke out publicly and disrupted their “Silencio.”
Just when they thought everything could go smoothly, discreetly, quietly, some fools decided they would no longer remain silent.
The eternal trauma of burglars being interrupted by annoying occupants who just happened to wake up and start screaming at the intruder.
Instead of the ideal situation of “Keep quiet while I rob you!”
And finally, to this day, the famous sentence by Stipe Mesić is remembered: “I think I have completed the task, Yugoslavia no longer exists.”
Last night, someone could rightly have boasted: “I think I have completed the task, 24 Minutes no longer exists.”
Well, guess what – it does!
The new season will begin on September 19 on the incredible and ever-growing YouTube channel “24 Minutes with Zoran Kesić.”
And here, we have a say. All of us.
We who create the show and you who love it. Wherever you are.
A carpenter’s workshop has offered to make us a desk, a man who imports LED screens wants to donate them for the studio, a woman is offering us a house in the woods…
Okay, the house in the woods scares us a little too, but thank you anyway.
A long time ago, this stopped being just ours.
And so, if we have been tearing it up until now, from now on we’re going to tear it apart!
Out of spite. Out of love for truth and justice. Out of anger.
And because, let’s not kid ourselves, we don’t know how to do anything else.
The greatest support will be for you to keep watching us.
And if “our thing” matters to you, spread the word that from now on we are only on the YouTube channel “24 Minutes with Zoran Kesić.”
From door to door, from home to school, from morning till tomorrow, from hardship to hardship, from the Vardar to Triglav, from heart to heart… tell one another the good news:
Počinje „24 minuta”!
