The Serbia women’s national volleyball team defeated Poland in the battle for the bronze medal at the European Championship.

Our volleyball players celebrated with a 3:1 victory (25:21, 25:19, 15:25, 25:18) and won another medal at the European Championship. Serbia played exceptionally well, was the more dominant side, controlled the game and fully deserved to claim bronze.

The opening of the first set was close, but once Tijana Bošković warmed up, everything became easier. Serbia went on a 7:1 run midway through the first set to take a 21:14 lead that Poland could not overcome.

The score followed a similar pattern in the second set. Bošković dictated the play, while Hena Kurtagić and Mina Popović also put in excellent performances. Poland led 12:10, but Serbia then scored six consecutive points to turn the tide of the second set.

Serbia suffered a dip in the third set after Zoran Terzić suddenly felt unwell and had to briefly leave the arena. The Polish players took advantage, built a big lead and managed to reduce the deficit.

The fourth set was not easy either, but Serbia played much better, especially Tijana Bošković, who led the national team. The key moment came midway through the fourth set, when Serbia took a 17:14 lead. Hena Kurtagić’s block also came through once again, as she scored crucial points for Serbia with two important blocks, helping the team secure the bronze after four sets!
