The sound that interrupted the 15-minute silence at today’s student protest and caused panic among the crowd was an acoustic weapon or “sound cannon” owned by Serbia’s security system, military analyst Aleksandar Radić told N1. He explained that its purpose is to incapacitate a target.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs told N1 that they did not use a sound cannon, stating that its use is not in accordance with the law.
During the 15-minute silence, panic and a stampede broke out, leaving people terrified.
