At the “Bare” City Cemetery in Sarajevo today, in front of a numerous family, friends, greats, and fans of basketball, the famous sports commentator and journalist, Edin Avdić, was buried, who unfortunately left us too soon last Wednesday at the age of 48.

Edin Avdić passed away in Belgrade on Wednesday, where a commemoration was held two days later at the “Crowne Plaza” hotel, attended by Dejan Bodiroga, Dejan Radonjić, the son of the deceased Dejan Milojević, Dušan Kecman, among others…

This Monday, a commemoration was also held in Sarajevo at the National Theater, where Edin’s friends and colleagues from this city, sports and basketball legends, addressed the audience, and among those present, besides Bodiroga, who came to the ceremony again, the former Partizan coach, Željko Obradović, as well as Mirza Teletović, appeared.

Teletović was particularly emotional and could not hold back his tears during his speech and remembrance of Edin Avdić.

The Janazah, that is, the funeral, then followed at 2:30 p.m. at the “Bare” cemetery, where all friends and family, but also residents of Sarajevo, were also present. After the hodja performed the religious rite, the coffin with the remains of Edin Avdić was lowered into the ground with a prayer.

After the funeral was finished, people approached the grave and bowed, expressing respect for everything he did during his life.
