The murder of Serbian citizen Vera Pitulić in Dallas, for which her partner is the prime suspect, was uncovered thanks to the signal from her mobile phone. The two were last seen together at a party over the weekend, after which Vera disappeared without a trace.
The horrific crime came to light in Dallas, Texas, after the body of Serbian citizen Vera Pitulić was discovered.
Vera’s family had previously reported her missing after she stopped answering her phone on Saturday. The search officially began on Monday, and by the following day it was confirmed that she had been the victim of a homicide. Her lifeless body was found inside a vehicle in Dallas.
Crime uncovered thanks to her phone
Vera’s family suspected over the weekend that something terrible had happened to her. As the mother of two children, it was highly unusual for her not to stay in touch with her loved ones. Police questioned Vera’s partner, Dallas bodybuilder Donnie N. B.
He claimed that he had also last seen her on Saturday and had no information about what happened to her afterward. However, investigators determined that the last signal from Vera’s phone had come from Donnie’s house.
That discovery prompted Dallas police to place him under arrest. According to Serbian media reports, Donnie N. B. is currently the only person detained in connection with the crime. Media outlets in Texas have not yet released details regarding his arrest.
“We still don’t know whether he killed her immediately after they left the party and dumped her body, or whether the crime took place at his house before he attempted to cover up the evidence,” a Kurir source familiar with the case said.

Family raising funds to transport the body
A fundraising campaign titled “Help Us Bring Her Home” has been launched on GoFundMe to help Vera’s family. The campaign states that Vera was a victim of domestic violence and is survived by two children, two brothers, and many loved ones.
According to the appeal, since her parents are deceased, her brothers are now not only coping with an immense personal loss but are also responsible for arranging the transportation of her body to Serbia and completing all the necessary procedures.
“Their wish is to bring her back to her homeland, where she can be laid to rest among her closest family members. However, the costs of transporting her body and organizing her funeral represent a significant financial burden for the family,” the appeal states.
“Every contribution, regardless of the amount, brings us closer to fulfilling her final wish and allowing her a dignified return home,” the fundraiser says.
The organizer also expressed gratitude to everyone willing to help the family during this most difficult time, especially because Vera’s two children have been left without their mother.
“Rest in peace. You will always be loved, and you will always be missed,” the message concludes.
Jealousy as the motive?
The investigation remains ongoing, and police are examining all the circumstances surrounding the murder. Reports indicate that Vera allegedly died from severe injuries, while some witnesses reportedly told investigators that her partner behaved aggressively at the party where they were last seen together, was intoxicated, and displayed signs of jealousy.
