The oldest brother of Serbian basketball player Nikola Jokić, Strahinja, has pleaded not guilty to charges of assaulting a spectator during the Nuggets vs. Lakers game on April 22, 2024, in Denver.
As seen in a video that surfaced on social media shortly after the incident, Strahinja allegedly attacked a man, delivering at least one punch to his face.
Accompanying Strahinja throughout the incident was Nemanja, the middle Jokić brother, who did not intervene but stood behind Strahinja.
The assaulted man was found to have sustained a concussion, bruises, and cuts, according to medical reports.

At his initial hearing, Strahinja Jokić pleaded not guilty to the charges, and he is expected to present his defense on April 18 during the first pretrial hearing, ahead of the trial, which begins on April 24.
If convicted, he faces a maximum fine of $1,000 and up to 364 days in jail, according to the law.
This is Strahinja Jokić’s second recorded violent incident. In 2019, he was charged with second-degree assault for allegedly strangling Marija Jokić and was also accused of false imprisonment and obstructing a phone service.
He later accepted a plea agreement, and the charges were dismissed in 2022.
