Last weekend in Svibovec Podravski, as part of the St. Benedict’s Day celebration, a concert by singer Miroslav Ilić was organized, but after only an hour, a power outage occurred and the concert was interrupted.
Locals were convinced that someone had intentionally cut off the electricity to the entire village when Miroslav Ilić was performing, and now the police have spoken out.
It turned out that suspicions that this was not an ordinary failure were correct. The police confirmed that an unknown person damaged the power line, which sparked suspicion among the locals that someone had intentionally tried to interrupt the performance of the Serbian singer in the vicinity of Varaždin, Net.hr writes.
The Varaždin Police Administration confirmed that the perpetrator damaged a metal cabinet on a power line pole and, by raising the handle, grounded the live electrical line, which caused an interruption in the supply of electricity in part of the settlement.
The police are still searching for the perpetrator, and a prison sentence of up to five years is prescribed for damage to public infrastructure.
“An unknown perpetrator damaged a metal cabinet on a power line pole and, by raising the handle, grounded the live electrical line. As a result, there was an interruption in the supply of electricity in part of the settlement of Vinica,” said the spokesperson of the Varaždin Police Administration, Petra Bosilj.
