At the order of the Higher Public Prosecutor’s Office in Belgrade, Serbia’s Ministry of Internal Affairs has filed a criminal complaint against Aleksandar Radić (54) on suspicion of committing the criminal offense of Preparing Acts Against the Constitutional Order and Security of the Republic of Serbia under Article 320 of the Criminal Code, as well as the criminal offense of Disclosing Classified Information under Article 98 of the Law on Data Secrecy, according to an official statement.
The complaint concerns military analyst Aleksandar Radić. Radić left Serbia at the end of June 2026 and, according to his own statement, made that decision because of serious threats and pressure. The situation began with his questioning over the alleged “sound cannon” case and escalated after pro-government media published footage of the covert surveillance of his minor daughter.
According to the Higher Public Prosecutor’s Office, following a search and forensic examination of the suspect’s seized mobile phone and other electronic devices, carried out under an order issued by the preliminary proceedings judge of the Higher Court in Belgrade, grounds were established for suspecting that he had committed the aforementioned criminal offenses.
“Given that the suspect left the territory of the Republic of Serbia on June 24, 2026, the Prosecutor’s Office has proposed that the preliminary proceedings judge of the Higher Court in Belgrade order his detention because he is a fugitive abroad, as well as to prevent him from repeating the criminal offense within a short period of time, and to issue an arrest warrant for suspect A.R. There are grounds for suspicion that A.R., by using his contacts with unidentified persons employed in state institutions, collected information classified at various levels of secrecy and thereby unlawfully obtained classified data marked ‘Top Secret,’ ‘Confidential,’ and ‘Internal,'” the statement said, adding:
“There are also grounds to suspect that from March 15, 2025 onward, A.R. publicly presented as facts information that was neither known nor available to him, but instead consisted of false claims regarding the alleged use of a ‘sound cannon’ by state authorities during a protest held earlier that day at Slavija Square, all with the intention of endangering the constitutional order and security of the Republic of Serbia. According to the suspicion, at 8:24 p.m. on March 15, 2025, A.R. communicated via the Signal application with N1 television journalist S.K., who, after a brief conversation, sent him a link to an X social media account called ‘Alef Pendule,’ where the account administrator had posted: ‘What technology did you use and what was the purpose of this intervention,’ along with a video from Kralja Milana Street, telling him to pay attention to the 32nd second of the recording.”

The statement further says that at 8:53 p.m. the suspect allegedly sent the journalist a message claiming that a sound weapon—an American non-lethal incapacitation device—had been used and that its purpose had been to demonstrate brute force and arrogance.
“Then, at 9:12 p.m., the N1 news portal published an article containing suspect A.R.’s statement about the alleged use of a ‘sound cannon,’ followed by the same claim at 9:30 p.m. during N1’s program ‘Direktno.’ This was the first media report alleging the use of a ‘sound cannon’ during the March 15, 2025 protest in Belgrade,” the statement said, adding:
“At the same time as the above communication on March 15, 2025, suspect A.R. communicated through the Instant Messenger application with Member of Parliament Z.P. regarding the alleged use of a ‘sound cannon.’ On March 16, Z.P. asked him, ‘Who do you think activated the cannon in the end?’ to which A.R. replied: ‘I don’t know, I have no sources, but my first guess is Vulin’s paramilitary group.'”
The Prosecutor’s Office also claims that at 8:56 p.m. on March 15, 2025, Radić communicated in a Viber group with RTS journalist G.J. and Beta News Agency editor V.K., where G.J. wrote: “They used a sound cannon, classified by NATO as a sonic weapon,” to which Radić allegedly responded affirmatively.
“At the same time, A.R. communicated via the Telegram application with Russian citizen V.O., who between 9:58 p.m. and 10:23 p.m. stated that he had used a ‘sound cannon’ against Somali pirates in 2014 and that it was ineffective, mentioning the term ‘infrasound’ for the first time in connection with the incident. Afterward, at 12:07 a.m., suspect A.R. used the term ‘infrasound’ in the aforementioned Viber group with the journalist and editor. After a photograph of the alleged sound cannon outside the Serbian National Assembly was circulated in the media and on social networks, on March 19, 2025, at around 10:09 a.m., suspect A.R. contradicted his previous claims by sending the message: ‘This is PSY OPS,’ implying that it was a psychological operation,” the statement continued.
“Although suspect A.R. was not present in Kralja Milana Street on the afternoon of March 15, 2025, he continued in subsequent public appearances to claim that he possessed information confirming the use of a ‘sound cannon.’ After speaking with V.O., he claimed that an ‘infrasound’ device had been used, and his subsequent public appearances were focused on alleging that the current authorities had used a prohibited device, promoting the narrative that it amounted to ‘firing at the people’ with the intention of injuring the assembled citizens. He reiterated this the same day at 10:24 p.m. on Facebook in a conversation with Nedeljnik journalist A.Ć., telling her that he knew what device had been used. During a March 16, 2025 conversation at 1:13 p.m. between suspect A.R. and RTS journalist G.J., a disagreement arose after G.J. said that RTS had asked him about the alleged use of a ‘sound cannon’ and that he had replied that he did not want to speculate or damage his professional integrity, to which the suspect allegedly responded that he could damage his integrity because he had an ideological basis for fighting for the truth.”
The statement also emphasizes that between March 15 and March 20, 2025, the suspect communicated extensively, mainly through Facebook, with Serbian Army Lieutenant Colonel and pilot D.B. about the issue. On March 18, the suspect allegedly suggested that the “sound cannon” had been positioned on the Albanija Palace, to which D.B. replied that this was impossible because the range of such a device was only 600 meters.
“After further communication, D.B. informed the suspect that there had definitely been no sound, after which suspect A.R. expressed the opinion that perhaps a ‘Vortex’ device had been used, with which D.B. disagreed. Between March 17 and March 18, 2025, through the Signal application, in an FDU group whose members included, in addition to the suspect, students A.M. and M.M., A.R. claimed at one point that a weapon emitting infrasound had been used and that it was a ‘Vortex Canon 1000Xi’ device. Student M.M. replied: ‘Do you know whether we also have smaller Vortex Canon devices? Based on analyses conducted by doctoral students and professors, the 1000Xi must be audible and it is impossible for it to generate infrasound,'” the statement says, adding:
“Later in the conversation, suspect A.R. shared in the FDU group the official statement of the First Basic Public Prosecutor’s Office in Belgrade, to which student M.M. responded: ‘That’s their trick. They actually didn’t write anything almost incorrect, because a sound cannon really wasn’t used. The Vortex Canon that was used is not a sound cannon at all but something completely different that operates on an entirely different principle, with sound being only a side effect.’ Based on this, on March 26, 2025, FDU students published a video about the alleged use of ‘some kind’ of weapon against demonstrators, attempting to shift the public narrative from a sound cannon to an infrasound weapon.”
