The Church of Saint Emperor Constantine and Empress Helena in the village of Bušince in Kosovska Kamenica was broken into during the night, and money from voluntary donations was taken from it.
As stated by the Office of the Government of Serbia for Kosovo and Metohija, the incident “reflects deep disrespect for religious differences and the right of the Serbian people to peacefully and collectively visit their churches and celebrate holidays.”
“This latest example of an attack on a Serbian Orthodox Church holy site also points to the deteriorating security situation in Kosovo and Metohija, in which Serbian churches, children and women are also targeted. Not a day goes by without an ethnically motivated incident being recorded in Serbian communities in Kosovo and Metohija, and almost without exception, all of them remain unresolved, while the perpetrators face no adequate condemnation or sanctions,” the statement reads.
