CHAMPIONSHIP RHYTHM OF IVANA SPANOVIC: The Serbian woman won gold in Zagreb despite three fouls!

Ivana Spanovic participated in the international meeting “Mladost” in Zagreb, where she competed in the triple jump, a discipline to which the 36-year-old Serbian athletics star switched last season. Spanovic achieved a result of 13.67 m and won first place.

Her series was: 13.50 m, 13.67 m, 13.36 m, followed by three fouls.

“In the last attempt, she had the best jump. The foul was only a centimeter and a half. We asked them to measure the jump anyway and it turned out to be over 14 meters. Here we practiced the approach from 14 steps, while the full approach is 16 steps. We did a serious training session and I am very satisfied,” said coach Goran Obradovic.

Just eight days ago, on June 26, at the same Sport Park Mladost stadium, but at the Boris Hanzekovic Memorial, Spanovic achieved a result of 14.25 m, which is her best outdoor result in the triple jump.

The winner of 15 medals in the long jump from European and World Championships, indoors and outdoors, as well as from the Olympic Games, landed the furthest at 14.41 m in her new discipline, which she achieved during the winter season and which represents the current national indoor record of Serbia.
