Serbian tennis player Olga Danilović has advanced to the Round of 32 at Roland Garros, defeating American Danielle Collins in the second round.

The top-ranked Serbian player triumphed with a score of 2-1 (6:4, 3:6, 6:4), after two hours and 14 minutes of play.

Olga had two break points in the very first game of the match but failed to convert either, allowing the American to take the lead. This was followed by a series of confident service games on both sides until the Serb leveled at 3:3. The next game proved crucial in the entire first set, as Danilović broke for a 4:3 lead and successfully held onto that advantage, routinely closing out the opening set.

The beginning of the second set brought no major excitement, with no break points seen during the first five games. However, a series of breaks then ensued, in which, unfortunately, Collins managed one more. The American first broke the Serb’s serve, then Olga retaliated in kind, but Danielle then made another break, which she confirmed in the next game, closing out the second set (6:3).

The start of the decisive set was turbulent. In the first two games, both players had break points but failed to convert them. Confident service games followed until the American served while the Serb led 3:2. Danilović then managed to break her opponent’s serve, confirmed the break in the next game, and took a 5:2 lead. However, Collins did not give up, narrowing the score to 5:3, and then in the game where Olga served for the win, Danielle managed to break back and extend the match.

Olga Danilović will play against the winner of the match between world No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka and Jil Teichmann in the third round.
