A graffiti of hate was written on the birthplace of Croatian Ban Josip Jelačić in Petrovaradin during the night.

“And Zagreb will one night come into Chetnik hands,” was written on the house, and the message was soon painted over, announced the Ban Josip Jelačić Memorial House Foundation.

The manager of the foundation, Goran Kaurić, said that this was a “bizarre damaging of a joint cultural monument” and added that he hopes those responsible will be punished.

The restored house of Ban Jelačić, i.e., his memorial house, was officially opened in 2022, and the event was attended by the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, as well as the Croatian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Gordan Grlić Radman.
